Hi everyone. Welcome to the it's all for Love podcast. I'm Cheryl Mazza, the Healing Dancer, your host and today we have Buddy Katz.

[00:01:52] Speaker C: Buddy again is from Penzalkin, New Jersey. If you missed the first episode with him, and he is a Michael Jackson impersonator here in South Jersey. So welcome back, Buddy.
[00:02:05] Speaker A: It's great to be back.
[00:02:06] Speaker C: Yes, it's great to have you back and I'm so excited to hear about your shows. So why don't you tell us a little bit about what is up and coming in August?
[00:02:19] Speaker A: So we have a new show called Remember the Times. It's a celebration tour to celebrate my 15th anniversary as an impersonator.
Originally it was supposed to be one show. Then we decided to add on two shows. Now it's a little mini tour going all around New Jersey and it's coming to August.
[00:02:39] Speaker C: Very nice. Where are the shows located?
[00:02:43] Speaker A: So August 3rd you can come see us at the St. Michael's Club in Gibbstown in New Jersey.
It's right near the Gloucester county area.
And for people in Merchantville, where I'm from, I'M from Pensacola. Merchantville's next town over will be at a certain location which I cannot publicly announce, but people can text me, contact me about that location. But we will be in Merchantville August 10th.
[00:03:09] Speaker C: Okay. Will that show ever be publicly announced or would they have to always text you to get the. The information?
[00:03:16] Speaker A: They had to text me the information due to an agreement with the promoter who's doing. Who owns the venue. It's agreement against him in the township. So technically I cannot really promote it. But okay, if you want to come see it.
So our August 3rd, it's about 250 seats.
And August 10th, it's only limited to 50. So it's limited seating for August 10th.
So guys want to come see it? Definitely. Let me know.
[00:03:45] Speaker C: Yeah, I'll make sure that all the information is in the show notes so that they can text you to get that if they want to go on the 10th or. And then we'll have all the info for the third too.
What inspired you to create Remember the Times?
[00:04:01] Speaker A: So it started back last year in July. We were doing our Thriller show and me, my co creators, Barry and Aiden. Barry is going to be on your show? Yes, people, if it's already posted before this interview, go check out Barry's interview. He's a great guy. Love working with him. I know he talks about the show too.
We used to, we were talking about what can we do for next year. Do you want to take. Do I want to take a break from next year or do I want to do a concert next year? Like, well, it's my 15th anniversary. We gotta do something. No matter what we do, it's. We'll. We'll do it. And we come up with ideas of different titles. First the title was Anthology.
With the show, it's not only to celebrate Michael. Biz of people to my co creators, it's to celebrate me. I'm like, I don't want it to sound like they're celebrating me, but it's more Michael's music. It's more celebrating him because it's also. It's around his birthday time. So it's good for Michael. Some people who are a big fan of Michael.
August is a great month to go celebrate Michael. Definitely, definitely.
And then we decided, oh, let's change the name to Remember the times. So I'm like, that sounds like a good idea. So that how the title became. We did a preview of the opening song to ever came through our Thriller show last year.
At the end of the show, Barry Aiden came out and did A little opening of our Oprah for the show so people got a little sneak peek.
I can't wait. That's how that became, yeah, the show. But with Barry, he said he's been telling me it's a good show. It's. We gotta title it Remember the Time. It sounds more like a show for people to celebrate and to remember.
[00:05:50] Speaker C: Definitely. Yeah. I mean, it. I think it's perfect. I mean, obviously it's from his song Remember the Time, but with Michael, it's all about remembering the times.
You know, there's so many different moments, you know, and songs musically, so many different, you know, hits. And just something that something for everybody is what it sounds like to me.
[00:06:15] Speaker A: And with this show because I know how many fans, they love certain albums. So every album is getting represented from all the way from off the Wall up to Invincible. So there is a song from each album in there. Just gotta come to certain shows to listen.
[00:06:31] Speaker C: That's awesome. I love that.
I love that. I was just reminiscing about off the Wall.
That's one of my favorite albums, actually. So I'm excited. I'm excited for the show. I can't wait to go see it.
[00:06:45] Speaker A: We have a great cast. They're very wonderful. They're amazing.
[00:06:51] Speaker C: Nice. So do you have all of your dancers and everything that you need?
[00:06:55] Speaker A: We do have all our dancers at the moment. We have Barry. He is our creative team member. He is our choreographer. He's the guy who made the posters for the show.
Trying to think what else he'd been doing the show recently.
He's been definitely helping promoting Aiden. He is our other creative team member. He's been my choreographer.
He's also. Barry and Aiden are also dancers and shows. So if you guys come see the shows. Aiden will not be an August 10th show because due to other events he's doing, but he'll be in August 3rd.
We have my wonderful friend Ryan. He's gonna be in the show too. He's in both shows like barriers.
And we. We have another dancer from previous shows. So I put this other idea of the show is to bring back previous dancers who worked with me before to make little cameos into the show. So, like a little celebration.
So my friend, my cousin Aaron's joined the show. She's making some cameos in the show.
And we have a dancer named Brent. She's also joined the show. She's new, so hopefully she does a great job in the show.
[00:08:08] Speaker C: I'm sure she will.
[00:08:09] Speaker A: Hopefully. Definitely. Hopefully.
But I've been working with Barry Aiden and Ryan since 2023. And with Barry Aiden, they're also Michael Jackson fans. They build. Helped me build the shows over time, and they became more into the show to help creating and doing a lot of other stuff in the show.
[00:08:32] Speaker C: That's awesome. I love how. Yeah. How you guys have all come together to create such an amazing thing to celebrate Michael Jackson and his love for his craft and his love throughout the world.
So I'm excited for the show. I cannot wait. I'm so excited. I was thinking about it today. I was like, oh, my gosh. I cannot wait to come. I love anything Michael Jackson. But of course, this is in my local community, so it's. It's definitely something that New Jersey needs.
[00:09:09] Speaker A: We need more Michael Jackson events.
[00:09:11] Speaker C: We do, we do. And we. You and I need to talk about creating more of that, too.
[00:09:18] Speaker A: Definitely. And for anybody who's listening, I don't know if you know, but there is a Michael Jackson exhibit going on in Atlantic City.
[00:09:27] Speaker C: Yes. Isn't that through July something? I forget. I just saw it.
[00:09:32] Speaker A: It's going through August 31st.
[00:09:35] Speaker C: Oh, that's right. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. So it's here for a while.
[00:09:39] Speaker A: For anybody who's listening, this is filmed in June, so go see it.
[00:09:46] Speaker C: This. I'll put this out probably in July, so.
So that everybody can, you know, get info on the show and also the. The exhibit. Yeah. I have to figure out when I can go see that, too. I was so excited when I saw that. I was like, yes, they're in Atlantic City. Do you know the name of the.
The. It's a couple, right?
[00:10:06] Speaker A: Yeah, the couple. Yeah, I know. I forgot her name, but it's always on top of my tongue. I know her name, but I don't know her name.
I know her husband's name. Brian.
[00:10:17] Speaker C: Yeah. I'm friends with both of them, I think. With both of them? Or am I just friends with the wife?
I don't. Anyway, that's. I think that's how I saw it. So I was like, I see them all the time on social media, and I'm just excited to see, like, someone local, you know, that you see on Facebook all the time to actually meet.
That's also in the Michael Jackson community, so it'll be good. And then to be around other people. I'm sure there'll be other people there at the exhibit as well.
[00:10:47] Speaker A: Definitely. It looks really good, too.
[00:10:49] Speaker C: Yeah, it does. It's got a lot of really cool stuff there.
[00:10:52] Speaker A: There's a lot of MJ stuff happening in August sand, you know, there's a lot of things happening.
[00:10:58] Speaker C: Yeah. I'll be doing my healing through dance class, I think on the 26th of August, which will be all about Michael. So lots of Michael stuff going on there.
[00:11:10] Speaker A: You got it. There you go. Have to.
[00:11:12] Speaker C: Yeah.
So anything else you would like to tell us about your shows coming up?
[00:11:18] Speaker A: So if people come to August 3rd, there's going to be certain songs that I will not be performing August 10th. So there's a little sneak peek of the set list. We are doing Billie Jean, we are doing Thriller. We're all doing Beat It. Those are songs we have to do. Those are the main core Michael Jackson songs. We are doing man the Mirror, Heal the World, another song I have not performed in a big production show.
Another part of me is being performing the show and librarian girl. So people, you get to hear a little sneak peek of what songs will be in the show. But definitely come see it. Come see both shows if you can.

[00:12:25] Speaker C: Well, you're still so young.
[00:12:26] Speaker A: So I tell my dancers I'm old. They. They say, yes, you are old. I'm like, thank you.
[00:12:32] Speaker C: As a dancer, I'm sure it feels.
I get that.
Well, thank you so much, buddy. I'm so excited and I, I'm excited for the turnout for your shows. It's going to be amazing.

Like I said, support the team, support the cast and crew, support Michael, Listen to all the good songs in the show before the show. Doors open at 4, 15 shows at 5. For both shows, we do a meeting greet. So people who want to come early, they'll get to meet me before the show. Because after meet and greets, like after the show, people scramble. And also I'm like. I'm like, face sweaty, very drenched and sweat. So, like, people come see me while I'm dry. Okay.
It makes more sense. I always feel bad when people like, oh, like, yeah, I feel a little wet at the moment. I'm so sorry.
[00:14:21] Speaker C: Yes. All right. So meet and greet before the show. That works.
[00:14:25] Speaker A: Definitely. Also be signing autographs if people want autographs, pictures and all that fun stuff.

[00:15:16] Speaker A: Buddy and Friends. So my podcast is about different performers.
I said to myself, like, I want to do something different besides the show. And I'm like, I want to do a podcast. Let's. Let's do a podcast. And Barry's was my first guest on the show. We had Carlos Riley on the show. We have multiple people on the. On the show.
