Thank you so much for listening and or watching. It's all for love. Well, hello and welcome to the it's all for Love podcast. I am Cheryl the healing dancer and I'm your host. And today we have the amazing Chris from Tampa, Florida. I'll tell you how we met later on, but Chris is an avid Michael Jackson fan and she does home healthcare. She goes to the gym five to six days a week and she has an amazing personal trainer. She crochet crochets frequently and has made several Afghans which I have seen. They are amazing and she enjoys putting smiles on people's faces and helping them in any way she can that I know for sure is true. She always makes me smile. So welcome Chris, to the podcast.
[00:03:14] Speaker B: Thank you.
[00:03:14] Speaker A: I also want to tell you about Chris and how she does her walks, so I'm going to have her tell that, too. She walks a lot, like, amazing amounts.
[00:03:27] Speaker B: I do walk a lot. I do charity walks for the Michael Jackson legacy charity. And we have one coming up August 29, which is his birthday.
And we do one on earth Day in April.
And then we do this one, then we do another one in October called Thriller Walk.
And last year, I did one around Christmas time on my own, all just my own little thing. Did a Christmas walk, which was fun because the time of year here is great to be doing stuff like that outside.
[00:04:06] Speaker A: Yeah, I'm sure.
[00:04:07] Speaker B: And I do anywhere between. The lowest was 14 miles, the highest was 27. So somewhere in there is what I target. I think this time I'm going for 18 because 17 plus one is 18, and Michael's favorite numbers are seven and one. So that's where that came from. So that's what I'm going for this year.
[00:04:30] Speaker A: That's amazing. And anybody can do a wall and just raise money to donate to Michael Jackson's legacy, which you can. I'll post it in the show notes and you can check it out for yourself. It's an amazing charity, and it goes through lots of amazing things.
[00:04:48] Speaker B: So primarily, Michael would love.
[00:04:50] Speaker A: Yes. Yeah.
Great. Well, all right, let's get into it. I want to hear your story. I want to know how you found or not how you found. How Michael found you and struck you in the heart.
[00:05:04] Speaker B: He struck me. All right, well, about two years ago, it was back about may of 22, I was not in a good place. I was feeling pretty crappy about myself. I was overweight and didn't feel good, and I was messing around on YouTube. I had watched the we are the world video and loved it. And then somehow I got latched onto the heal the world video. And I'm like, you know what?
These really spoke to me. And I'm like, I'm gonna lose this weight right then and there.
I started walking every day, faithfully. Started it like half a mile and then just kept going up to there. When I stopped walking outside, I was at 7 miles a day.
And finally, may of 23, I decided to take it indoors because our summers are very brutal here and now I do it all at the gym. But that's what did it, was just seeing him and his influence on me has been amazing, and I do it for him and just to make myself feel good, which in turn makes other people feel good, especially with the work I do helping the elderly, which I love to do. I love to make them happy and make them feel good. And I've been doing it ever since I got hooked up from the lady who's the founder of Michael Jackson Legacy. Legacy. And she attached me with a lady named Brenda, who's actually in Canada. And she was orchestrating the walk. And so we just started talking and sharing our stories and just kind of happened. And I do it. I do it every single day. I'm on a calorie counting diet as well as the walking, the exercise. And I've taken off about a little over 50 pounds in the course of two years now. Some has gained back, but I think it's a little bit of muscle and I think more like a lot of muscle because I feel much stronger and I just. That's my inspiration. He's my motivation. Just in the back of my mind, you know, telling me to keep doing it and doing it. And so I haven't quit. I'm not going to stop now.
Recently, I lost my mom, which was a bad, bad, bad time. And she always told me, she says, you look great, she says, don't ever stop.
So that's something else that just keeps pushing me and pushing me. So between those two, between her and Michael, I'm not going to stop. So that's pretty much it.
[00:07:48] Speaker A: Don't stop till you get enough.
[00:07:49] Speaker B: Don't stop. I don't know when I can get enough.
[00:07:53] Speaker A: Right? It's never enough. It's never enough when it's Michael. But that's an amazing story, how he inspired you to take control of your health.
And, you know, that in turn, is just like being the best you, which is exactly what he always was. Right. Always portrayed his best self to the world.
[00:08:13] Speaker B: So absolutely, I love it. And in 23, I was informed about a.
What's it called? A.
What's the thing we went to in LA?
[00:08:27] Speaker A: The retreat. Retreat, yeah.
[00:08:29] Speaker B: And I decided kind of last minute to go and I met five of the amazing, most amazing women, Cheryl's one.
And we kept in contact ever since. And I was fortunate enough to go to LA again this year and meet two of the other girls and hung out with them for a while and did some other stuff while I was there. And it was great. It was great. And I'm hoping to go next year, too.
[00:08:57] Speaker A: I am hoping to go next year too. So might be raising money for that.
No, I'm hoping. I definitely. I missed it so much this year.
If any of you listening ever gets a chance to go to Neverland on that area. Like, the energy is just unreal. I know I've said it before probably.
[00:09:19] Speaker B: But, yeah, it's calming.
I stayed there for three and 4 hours at a time, laying on the grass right in front of the place and just reading books and just total, just. It was just so peaceful and serene. I even went at night. It was great.
[00:09:36] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah. One of my favorite pictures of me when. When we were there is when I'm just sleeping on the grass. Like, so I think Brenda took a picture of me, and I was just passed out in the grass. And that's because it just feel, like, so safe and it's so peaceful and it's.
[00:09:52] Speaker B: Energy's right there.
[00:09:53] Speaker A: Yeah. Yes. It's amazing. So tell me, are there any Michael Jackson synchronicities that happened to where he just comes into your life? I know it happens when you're walking.
[00:10:06] Speaker B: Oh, yeah.
[00:10:07] Speaker A: Anything come to mind that you want to share?
[00:10:08] Speaker B: When I'm walking, I have his music blaring in my ears, and what I envision is either him in the studio or him on the grounds making one of his short films.
Seeing the work that goes in behind what he did was absolutely incredible because he was such a perfectionist. Seeing him envisioning him singing whichever song on stage, which I wish I could have gone to at least one bad one history and one dangerous tour, but I couldn't.
So I envisioned that, and I envisioned him singing. I just listened to every part of the song. And frequently, you know, his numbers come up all the time.
I count in ones and sevens and elevens all the time. It's really bizarre.
Frequently, if I'm at the store, one of his songs comes on. You know, their music just all kind of. Just little things happen a lot. Yeah, he's there. He's always right inside my head all the time.
[00:11:09] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:11:10] Speaker B: Constantly. Got the music on. I is in my car, you know, I'm watching tv now. I'm watching YouTube now because I can. Nobody's here for me, but I usually watch it at night. You know, my husband's still up and whatever's currently going on with other YouTube people and see what kind of information they have. Some of them are really stupid, and some of them are pretty smart.
I like watching the reactions to certain songs. That's kind of fun to watch that someone else's opinion.
That's really it. I mean, nothing real specific. Kind of. A lot of little things happen a lot.
[00:11:50] Speaker A: Yeah.
Well, it's the little things that. That me make it.
[00:11:56] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:11:57] Speaker A: Great. Because it's like, it's just like a little, like, sprinkle here and there. Michael. And it's like, you know, might be like, whatever you're going through and you're like, oh, it's Michael. Makes you smile, right?
Thank you, Michael. Yeah.
You know, I love it. I love it.
If you had to pick a favorite Michael Jackson song, what would it be?
[00:12:24] Speaker B: I bowled this around in my head I don't know how many times, but I have to say, probably going to be Billie Jean. Because listening to that and the way it was done was so pristine. And with me being a walker, it's so much fun to walk to. Not just outside, but on the treadmill and stuff when I'm at the gym. Probably going to be Billie Jean. Um, I was the most familiar with it back when it came out in. When I was in high school. Yeah. I'm saying my age, so what?
Um. But yeah, it probably would have to be that. But there's so many. It's not funny.
[00:13:01] Speaker A: I know, I know. Yes. It's hard to pick one, but that song is just like.
Yeah, it's great to work out, too. I mean, I've done it, too. Where I'm just like, you know, walking to the beat, lighting up the street.
[00:13:17] Speaker B: Yeah, I'm probably out there swaying it, but I don't care.
[00:13:22] Speaker A: Yeah, exactly.
[00:13:24] Speaker B: I've stopped traffic once or twice.
[00:13:28] Speaker A: That's great. Probably make people smile, you know?
[00:13:30] Speaker B: Exactly.
[00:13:31] Speaker A: Yeah, exactly.
[00:13:31] Speaker B: No, you can't have this. Please keep walking.
[00:13:36] Speaker A: Do you have a favorite video, short film.
[00:13:40] Speaker B: Gosh. That you loved?
I don't know. Thriller is pretty high up there.
Remember the time.
Oh, I like bad. I do.
Fricking sexy and dirty. Diana. He's very sexy. And come together. Oh, my God.
[00:14:08] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. Come together. That's great.
[00:14:10] Speaker B: Yeah, he's in his areas. In his bad areas.
[00:14:15] Speaker A: That yellow shirt, right?
Almost like the gold pants, you know?
[00:14:24] Speaker B: Oh, my God. I heard. I saw an interview once, and someone asked him about the gold pants during that tour. And he says, well, they want cake. I'm gonna give them cake.
[00:14:36] Speaker A: I have not heard that. Oh, my gosh. I have to find that.
[00:14:39] Speaker B: I heard some interviews.
[00:14:41] Speaker A: Oh, my goodness. That's great. That's great. Oh, gosh. I love Mike. Right.
So how does Michael continue to spread love in your world?
[00:14:56] Speaker B: Kind of opening doors that I didn't know were going to open, you know, allowing me to see him last June, Neverland and be able.
Neverland. I saw Havenhurst Carol, which is kind of sad.
Different things that I hadn't seen before. And Brendan Siren, you know, they drove me around La looking all that. And I'd been to the start in 22, but that was cool. And just being with all those people, there's all those Michael people was just like, I can be myself, you know, that was probably one of the best things because you have nothing to hide. You just can be yourself. And I don't do that at home. I. You know, it's all in the cardinal, you know, or at the gym or whatever. But I don't. Not like that on a regular basis. So it was so much fun being with those people and just hearing their stories. And just some of these people I met got a chance to work on the biopic, which I'm very curious.
[00:16:03] Speaker A: Yeah, I'm so jealous. I wanted to be very.
[00:16:07] Speaker B: One girl I met, she was an extra in the thriller scene where he's on top of the cardinal doing that.
Some work behind the scenes, you know, with choreography and stuff, it's like that's. I'm so jealous.
[00:16:22] Speaker A: Such a dream. Yeah, I know.
[00:16:27] Speaker B: Just things like that. It's constantly an inspiration. And for me, the motivation. Just keep going, keep going, you know, don't mess it up. Don't mess it up. And very, very, very hard sometimes. But I just. I just keep pursuing. So.
[00:16:43] Speaker A: Yep, you're amazing.
So what do you want the world.
[00:16:49] Speaker B: To know about Michael is that he was completely innocent. The man would not hurt a fly.
I mean, in one of his concerts, he stopped the show to get a bug off the stage. I mean, for being completely innocent and such a mastermind, a genius in his own right. And his child. Childhood was completely, you know, totally stolen from him. That's why he's, you know, like, to act like a kid. I mean, so was. Don't judge that. He's.
I don't know. I don't know how to put it. He's. He's amazing. And I didn't know anything. Anything about MG. Yeah, I probably thought he was guilty because of the media back in the day. But after just one or two interviews I saw of him when I started, I wanted to get to know him.
This man wouldn't hurt fly. Come on. I didn't know he was a humanitarian. I didn't know anything. I didn't know he wrote his own music. I didn't know he composed Orlando produce. I know any of that. The man was a genius.
[00:18:02] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:18:03] Speaker B: It was nice for people to, you know, know that. That this man would not hurt a fly, would give you the shirt off his back, you know? And then some.
[00:18:12] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:18:13] Speaker B: That's probably the biggest thing, you know, don't listen. The media is filthy. It's trash. He says it's garbage and it is. It's still garbage today. And I.
He's innocent as innocent can be. And, you know, the man was broken at the end of 2005. He was broken and so sad to watch that. But people know he was very innocent and would not have a fly and amazingly talented and he got robbed. Robbed of a lot of things.
[00:18:50] Speaker A: He did. He did. But he also.
[00:18:54] Speaker B: What was that amazing dad. Oh, my God, he adored the kids. Jeez.
[00:19:01] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, yeah. He was an amazing heart. Oh, that God put on this earth. And if people would just do the research.
[00:19:11] Speaker B: Yeah. Not going to take much either.
[00:19:13] Speaker A: Right. It's not. Just look a little bit into it and you'll find the answers.
[00:19:18] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:19:20] Speaker A: And why we all avidly support him and his innocence.
[00:19:25] Speaker B: Yes, and his innocence. Yeah. I mean, the man went, like I say, wouldn't hurt fly. You know, it's crazy. So, yeah, I would, I would have loved, you know, they do these little polls on, on Facebook and stuff. Say if you had an opportunity to meet Michael Jackson, what would you say? I would say, hey, how's it going? I'm treating like a human being, not a star and that would be kind of hard because it'd be starstruck, but.
[00:19:50] Speaker A: Right.
[00:19:50] Speaker B: Keep it just level key and just, hey, how's it going, dude?
[00:19:54] Speaker A: Right, right, yeah. Try to just be like as normal as possible.
[00:19:58] Speaker B: Normal as possible. Normal as I could. As I could be. Yeah.
[00:20:02] Speaker A: And I've often thought about like that moment too. Like if that ever happens and I'm, I don't know if I would definitely cry. I think it's his energy that did that to people. It was just 5000 and that kind of energy was just like as hard to control yourself, you know?
[00:20:22] Speaker B: Yeah. I mean, I've never heard of that many faints in one concert.
[00:20:26] Speaker A: I mean, right.
[00:20:27] Speaker B: It was, it was just his energy and his aura just, just oozed everywhere and it's like I've been to other concerts. I've seen Backstreet numerous times and I never wanted to faint.
[00:20:43] Speaker A: I've seen nukes on the block numerous times and never fainted. Yeah. But I did cry when I met Joey McIntyre. Oh, okay.
[00:20:49] Speaker B: That's a lot.
[00:20:50] Speaker A: But it wouldn't have been a Michael Jackson cry. That would, that's for sure.
[00:20:53] Speaker B: But that would have been more like a sob.
[00:21:01] Speaker A: He's an amazing energy and you can still feel that energy through a lot of things today still, like, you know, physically and places that he lived that he's been at. And then obviously through his music, you know, so that emanates the most energy because that was his big superpower, besides love. So.
[00:21:26] Speaker B: Yeah, huge superpower. And just, you know, the love of life. He loved life. He, you know, people would ask him, you know, when these allegations came out, you know, you're gonna kill yourself. No, I mean, he kept creating. He kept.
He loved life. He just kept wanting to create. He's. That's not what I was. I was put on this planet to make people happy and to give people release and escapism and all this stuff. Why would I want to kill myself? No.
[00:21:54] Speaker A: God.
[00:21:55] Speaker B: So his life was complicated, but, yeah, who does. He was human.
[00:22:01] Speaker A: My cat.
[00:22:03] Speaker B: Yeah. So, yeah.
[00:22:05] Speaker A: Oh, I could talk about Michael for ever. Is there anything else that you want to say?
[00:22:15] Speaker B: Just keep a positive outlook about him. These people who don't believe that he's innocent and. Oh, there she is. This is my girl. This is Kitty. This is Lucy.
[00:22:29] Speaker A: She's so cute.
[00:22:31] Speaker B: She's a brat.
Know that he's innocent. Just a little bit of research that he's innocent. Don't eat the computer. And.
No, maybe he'll strike you like he did us.
Maybe.
[00:22:48] Speaker A: You never know.
[00:22:50] Speaker B: You don't know. And there's a lot of.
[00:22:52] Speaker A: Life will change forever.
[00:22:54] Speaker B: Yep.
[00:22:55] Speaker A: It's like it's been a good way.
[00:22:57] Speaker B: In a good way, in a positive way. Yeah. In a very good way. So, yeah, that would probably be it. You know, give the guy a chance. I mean, he's a hell of a singer, a hell of a performer, you know, you can't ever take that away from him. Never. I mean, the man went through hell, you know, and trying to have a life, trying to have a family, which was very hard for him. And there was so much controversy around that. Anything there was controversy with the poor guy. You know, he just got a bad rap. I just. It's not fair. It's not fair to be able to be true.
[00:23:29] Speaker A: I blame it on the media. That's basically all it was, was the media.
[00:23:33] Speaker B: They were just gold digging. It's just everybody wanted his money.
[00:23:37] Speaker A: All about the money.
It's okay. They couldn't kill his heart.
[00:23:42] Speaker B: Nope. And you wouldn't let him?
[00:23:44] Speaker A: No.
[00:23:45] Speaker B: No, he would not let him physically is one thing, but they can't take the best part of him.
[00:23:53] Speaker A: Still here.
[00:23:54] Speaker B: And I'm so happy to be. Be a fan and to be a follower and because it's nothing but positive. And that's what I try to surround myself with, is positive energy. I don't like to be negative, and, you know, everyone has a lot going on in their lives. It's negative, and I do, too, you know, but I try to be up and try to get through it.
[00:24:15] Speaker A: Yeah.
And I think that. That Michael has that influence on us as fans, you know? Like, that's what he taught us to do, is to share our love with the world and to be that light in the world like he was, to help raise people's vibration and keep them in a higher state of being, because who wants to be angry all the time or negative all the time, you know?
[00:24:43] Speaker B: Yeah. What are you accomplishing? You're not accomplishing nothing. My release now is the gym where I can zone out with my goal, and it's me time, you know, because I'm a pleaser, which, you know, and he's up. Michael's also taught me, you got to do you.
[00:25:03] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:25:04] Speaker B: Don't do you. How can you make people happy? So that's how I decided, okay, I'm doing me. I'm gonna do this, and I'm gonna do that, and I'm gonna. I'm gonna walk, and I'm gonna do this diet thing, and. And then a year later, I still join the gym. I don't care what anyone says. I'm joining the gym, and that's my zone out time.
[00:25:22] Speaker A: Right. And that's what keeps you happy.
[00:25:24] Speaker B: Yep.
[00:25:25] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:25:26] Speaker B: So it gets me to the next day. Yes.
[00:25:29] Speaker A: Yeah. One day at a time.
Well, it's been really great talking with you. I always love talking with you. Thanks for sharing your story, and we love you all. To all the listeners, it's all for love.
[00:25:45] Speaker B: All for love.
[00:25:46] Speaker A: Have an amazing day. Afternoon, night, wherever you are. We'll see you next time.
[00:25:51] Speaker B: Okay, bye.
